Beats Antique is bringing their distinctive fusion of performance art, acoustical-electronic and world music styles to the TLA Friday, September 21 in support of their seventh studio album, Contraption Vol. 2 ,out tomorrow on Antique Records. It is easy to see and hear that multiple musical personalities and influences have shaped Beats Antique into the creative force they are today. Composed of David Satori, Zoe Jakes and Tommy “Sidecar” Cappel, the California band draws upon a variety of influences from Middle Eastern belly dance music, jazz, bebop, hip hop, down tempo and afro-beat, while blending multiple varieties of electronic music into the mix.
